Aaron has been training in the martial arts since the age of 11.  His studies began in the 6th grade following an after-school altercation with 3 junior high students that did not go in his favor. His first exposure to the martial arts came under Sensei Tim Hoover in Pennsylvania. For the next 4 years Aaron progressed in the art currently known as Kwon Ryu Fu Chi Do at American Karate Studio (know called Hoover Karate Academy).

After a hiatus due to high school athletics he picked back up during his college years where he studied Aikido with Sensei Ed Peteroy and trained with the USAFA boxing team. Shortly after he gained his first exposure to jiu jitus while training at the Freedom School of Martial Arts with Mr. Kirk Frankenberger in Colorado Springs. In 2008, upon being stationed at Offutt AFB in Omaha NE, his training continued under Sifu Bob Ryan in Jeet Kune Do, Filipino weapon arts, Muay Thai and jiu jitsu. During this same time he was introduced to Sifu Marc McFann and Sensei Erik Paulson. While at Offutt AFB he explored the sweet science with Coach Ken Friday as well.

Throughout his martial arts journey, Aaron has been lucky enough to train with some of the foremost experts in the world: Guro Dan Insosanto, Sifu Marc McFann, Erik Paulson, Ajarn Chai Sirisute, Sifu Paul Vunak, Ajarn Greg Nelson, Dr. Maung Gyi, Ray Parra, and Rodrigo Vaghi.

Aaron holds instructorships under Sifu Marc McFann in Unified Fighting Arts, Ajarn Surachai “Chai” Sirisute in Muay Thai, Sensei Erik Paulson in Combat Submission Wrestling and Sifu John Cammarata in Progressive Fighting Arts.  He is a BJJ purple belt under Rodrigo Vaghi.
